Several upstreams at every PoP
Each PoP connects to more than one upstream carrier. Your traffic leaves through the carrier with the best BGP path to its destination, so one carrier's congestion or outage does not decide your route.
Mainland China and CERNET
Shenzhen, Shanghai and Suzhou connect to China Telecom, China Unicom and China Mobile. Shanghai and Suzhou also connect to CERNET (AS4538), the China Education and Research Network, which serves universities and research institutes.
One backbone between the cities
The PoPs are joined by the KiNET backbone. Traffic between your ports in Tokyo and Frankfurt stays on our network instead of crossing the public Internet.
Peering on the same port
Where a PoP connects to an exchange, routes learned from peers are part of the same table. Taipei, for example, reaches STUIX, TPIX, HKIX and Equinix IX Hong Kong.
常见问题
Which carriers does KiNET use for transit?
It depends on the PoP. Tokyo uses Softbank, IIJ, Cogent, NTT, Lumen and PCCW Global. Frankfurt uses Cogent, GTT, Orange, Zayo and Liberty Global. Shenzhen uses China Telecom, China Unicom and China Mobile; Shanghai and Suzhou add CERNET (AS4538). Each PoP page lists its carriers.
Can I buy transit in more than one city?
Yes. Every PoP sells transit, and ports in different cities share the same backbone and the same autonomous system, AS154859.
